We are seeking a passionate and values-driven FET Educator to join our teaching team and play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, CAPS-aligned education. The successful candidate will teach Afrikaans FAL across the FET Phase, inspire learners to academic excellence, and contribute meaningfully to our co-curricular programme and Christian ethos.

Commencement date: 1 January 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

Curriculum Delivery and Lesson Presentation

  • Teach English Home Language and Mathematics using learner-centred, inclusive, and differentiated methodologies.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that meet CAPS requirements and foster critical thinking, literacy, and numeracy.
  • Integrate technology and real-world applications into the classroom.

Learner Support and Assessment

  • Apply diagnostic, formative, and summative assessments to inform instruction and provide feedback.
  • Track learner progress, identify support needs, and implement intervention strategies.
  • Create a safe, inclusive environment that supports learners’ emotional, social, and academic development.

Classroom and Resource Management

  • Maintain orderly and stimulating classrooms aligned with school standards and ethos.
  • Ensure learner books and administrative records are up to date, neat, and compliant with curriculum expectations.
  • Manage classroom resources responsibly and notify management of supply needs.

Relationship Building and School Culture

  • Foster positive relationships with learners, parents, and colleagues rooted in mutual respect and care.
  • Role model school values and discipline philosophy anchored in Christian principles.
  • Support learners through mentoring, pastoral care, and active spiritual engagement.

Co-Curricular Involvement

  • Actively participate in at least one sport or cultural activity per term.
  • Support the broader life of the school through participation in school events and functions.

Requirements for the Position:

Education and Legal Requirements

  • A recognised teaching qualification: B.Ed Degree or PGCE/HED.
  • Registered with SACE and in good standing.
  • No criminal record and clearance from the sexual offences register.
  • An Honours Degree in Education or a subject specialisation in English or Mathematics is advantageous.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of teaching experience in the Intermediate or Senior Phase preferred.
  • Prior experience in CAPS-aligned schools and an ability to manage diverse classrooms is highly desirable.
